We had a great weekend, with all of our dogs doing better than expected, earning a total 30 Q's and 4 new titles. It was a really fun trial this year with good attendance and lots of new faces as well as most of our old friends! No group photo this year, but we did manage to video tape all the runs, and should have those available soon.

8/09 Westley and Zen won the annual Can/Am Team Games Championship. Go Shibas!

4/09 Westley earned his C-ATCh2!

4/09 Belle earned her CS-ATCh!

2/09 Buttercup earned a place on the 2008 CPE Top Ten List. Earning 2615 points was good enough to make her the #2 Enthusiast CPE dog (all breed) last year. The New England CPE teams did extremely well this year, filling over half the spots on the 2008 top ten lists!

11/08 We attended Thanksgiving Cluster in Springfield MA. We participated in Agility, Rally, and Conformation. Westley earned the points he needed to qualify for the 2009 AKC Agility Nationals, Buttercup earned 3 double Q's (and Q'd 7 out of 8 runs), Moxie earned her first ever Agility Excellent Q, James earned his first JWW Q and his first conformation points, and Aeryn (the baby Rottie) made her debut in the Rally ring and earned her first Q.

10/08 We attended the TDAA Petit Prix (the TeaCup Agility Nationals) in Westminster, VT. Our Shibas were awesome. Four of them earned places in the Finals, and, in the 12" division, Westley earned 3rd place, Moxie earned 6th place, and Buttercup earned 7th place, while in the 16" division, James earned 7th place.

10/08 Westley earned his C-ATE (CPE Agility Team Extraordinaire). He is the first Shiba ever to do so. He celebrated with a victory lap around the ring, while we humans celebrated with champagne and cake.

Westley earned Agility High in Trial Standard, Agility High in Trial Jumpers with Weaves, and Agility High in Trial FAST and James earned Rally-O High in Trial. 9/07 We have puppies! Rosie had 2 boys and 1 girl.

7/07 We competed at the CPE Nationals in Nova Scotia, Canada! All our dogs made a good showing, but Belle and Indy did particularly well: Belle earning the 12" Specialist Level 3 High in Standard Plaque and the 12" Specialist Third Place Games Plaque, and Indy earning the 12" Specialist Second Place Games Plaque. It was a wonderful and unforgettable trip, from playing agility in Maine on our way north with the wonderful folks of EMAC, to hiking in New Brunswick with family at Fundy National Park, to the Nationals itself (a tremendously fun and well run event), to the few days we spent on our way home camped on the beach in an isolated corner of Nova Scotia, where the dogs got to run for miles on the open and deserted beaches. Check out a few of our favorite pictures from our 2007 Vacation (WARNING: this page is extremely image intensive!).

6/07 Westley and Buttercup earned their C-ATCH (CPE Agility Team Champion) titles!

2/07 We have puppies! Finally, after over a year of trying for a litter, Belle had 2 girls and 1 boy.

1/07 We have a new baby! Jamie, our first black and tan shiba has joined the family! After a year long search for that "perfect puppy", Jamie comes to us from our friend Charleen Maxim of Cape Cod Shibas.

9/06 We attended the NSCA Shiba Performance Specialty Weekend in Edinboro, PA. As always, it was a blast! Highlights included Belle winning the High in Trial Rally Trophy, Westley earning (his first) three AKC titles on the same day, and our dogs collectively earning 7 of the 8-9 new titles awarded to Shibas over the weeekend.

7/06 We competed in the Can/Am International Team Games Championship, and our all Shiba Team won first place. Not bad for a pack of shibas competing in an All-Breed International competition!

9/05 We attended the NSCA Shiba Performance Specialty Weekend in Edinboro, PA. We had lots of fun, earned many Qs and brought home stacks of ribbons. We tried Rally-O for the first time and earned qualifying scores with four of our dogs including our puppy Westley, who earned the Rally High in Trial Trophy (his first ever time in the ring)!

7/05 We have puppies! Rosie had 3 boys and 1 girl.

7/05 We have (a) puppy! Belle had 1 perfect little girl.

10/04 We have puppies! Buttercup had 3 boys and 1 girl on Friday the 8th.

9/04 We attended the NSCA Shiba Agility Trial Weekend in Edinboro, PA. All four of our shibas (Buttercup, Belle, Moxie, and Bota) Q'd and Buttercup earned her NAP title. All in all, we came home with a nice stack off ribbons including 7 first place rosettes, and 2 second place rosettes.

8/04 Buttercup, Bota and Moxie have earned their first agility titles. Buttercup has earned her entire CPE CL1 title, Bota has earned the CL1-F & CL1-H titles, and Moxie earned the CL1-H title.

7/04 We are pleased to officially announce that we are planning a litter for this fall. This will be Buttercup's final litter. We will be posting more info on Buttercup's page soon.

7/04 We began competing at agility trials in June. By the end of July, Buttercup, Belle and Moxie have all earned legs towards agility titles!

3/03 Our first (human) baby is born! Thankfully, the dogs all like her! Unfortunately, they all like her toys and her clothes and her dirty diapers too! If you're curious to see pictures of baby Norah, there are a couple of her and Belle on Belle's page.

3/03 Mochi/Sam has a new home and is now Loki!

2/03 Mochi/Sam has returned to us for a while and is looking for a new home. He is a wonderful puppy!

12/02 All the puppies have gone home and are doing well!

9/02 We have puppies! Buttercup did it again! 3 beautiful little boys and 3 beautiful little girls! Click here for pictures.

9/01 Buttercup has earned her championship - Yay!!!

9/01 Little Rosie won her first point towards her championship at only 6 months and 4 days of age.

9/01 We had a bit of a family reunion with Buttercup and all 3 of her daughters together in one place - what fun!

8/01 We've done well at the dog shows so far this summer - 8 points (4 for Buttercup, 2 for Belle, and 2 for Indy) in 5 shows! Buttercup is now only 3 points away from being a champion.

8/01 All 6 pups are thriving and growing quickly! Bota, Moxie, Rose, and Ruby have graduated from their Puppy-K classes (and I suspect Rudy and Kito have also, but I haven't heard for sure). Moxie and Bota are halfway through their Puppy Agility class. We took Moxie Bota and Rose (shown by my 7 year old sister, Elle) to the Carroll County KC Match Show in June, and all did very well - Bota won Best of Breed Puppy, and then went on to win Puppy Group 1.

3/01 We have puppies! 3 beautiful little boys and 3 beautiful little girls! Click here for pictures.

12/00 First of all, I want to mention of wonderful little shiba in need of a home! Her name is Ripley and she is a wonderful, sweet, friendly 7 year young black and tan girl. I've met her on a couple occations and think she is just wonderful. She is being fostered by Kathryn in Littleton, MA. Her foster Mom would like her to be adopted by someone nearby, so if you're looking for a shiba and live in eastern or central Massachusetts, please check out Ripley's Web Page and get in touch with Kathryn. [NOTE (added 8/01): Kathryn is currently planning to keep Ripley and is not actively trying to place her - for reasons I'm not entirely sure of, Kathryn has not removed Ripley from the lists of available shibas.] There are (unfortunately) always many wonderful shibas available for adoption: please go to the Colorado Shiba Rescue Available page for a list of those in your area waiting for a home!

12/00 Secondly, I want to brag a little about my girls' success in the show ring this summer. The big news is that Buttercup won a 4 point major (her first) at the Cheshire County Kennel Club Show in Keene, NH this August (this was despite the fact that she behaved like a little monster that day - I walked out of the ring feeling both proud of and somewhat embarressed by her, an odd combination of feelings!) Our baby, Belle, also made us proud, winning reserve ribbons at majors from the 6-9 month puppy class twice and always behaving like a perfect young lady! We can't wait for her to grow up (and into her long legs)!

12/00 Finally, our big news: we will be breeding Buttercup this January. Buttercup has a sweet personality, good looks (halfway to her Championship), a beautiful gait, normal patellas, is OFA Excellent, and CERF Clear. The Daddy will be CH Kooskia's Red Headed Stranger (call name "Red") owned by Cheri Sullo. Red is sweet, gorgeous, OFA Excellent and CERF Clear. He has an absolutely beautiful head and a wonderfully easy going temperment. We expect some wonderful puppies from these two wonderful parents. Contact us at 603-437-4880 for more information about this exciting litter!
